Tactical Mobile Communications for Military Vehicles

Tactical Mobile Communications Technology (Overview)

In one day, this short course will give you a comprehensive introduction into modern tactical communication systems. Modern forces need continuous data on-the-move, but achieving it reliably has proven elusive and expensive. This course will introduce the fundamentals of data networks and explain the challenge of supporting data over mobile ad-hoc radio networks. No previous technical knowledge is required.  Further details on the course are available in the Course Outline and Timetable.

Tactical Mobile Communications Technology (Intermediate)

This three-day course will develop your understanding of the technical issues that challenge modern battlefield communications. Through lectures and tutorials you will explore the advances in tactical data networks and the challenges of sustaining them in a dispersed mobile environment.  You will also investigate the practical issues around fitting multiple radio systems into military vehicles.  Further details on the course are available in the Course Outline and Timetable.

Tactical Mobile Data Communications (Advanced)

Over five-days this intensive course will give you a comprehensive understanding of the future direction of mobile tactical communications technology. Through presentations and tutorials you will investigate legacy data networks and the evolution to emerging mobile ad-hoc IP networks in a hostile EW environment. The course considers terrestrial and satellite-based technology, with a particular focus on the challenges of maintaining data on-the-move.  Some mathematics background is required. Further details on the course are available in the Course Outline and Timetable.
