Model Based Systems Engineering Workshop (MBSE Fundamentals) – 5 day Intensive

Course Description

Developed by practitioners for practitioners, this new and innovative five-day Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Workshop teaches participants the fundamentals of MBSE based on ISO 15288.  Cleverly designed, the course develops essential MBSE knowledge, skills and understanding through a series of structured presentations and modelling workshops so that participants can:

  • develop coherent and integrated operational models based on scenario driven methods using thread-based analysis techniques and visual diagramming, 
  • develop and model integrated system functional and physical architectures, and the associated interfaces,
  • develop correctly scoped systems engineering programs that coherently model and integrate systems engineering management, systems engineering and V&V,
  • develop integrated SE management artefacts using the latest ISO 15288 project processes,
  • develop an integrated system model using Capability Architect; a modern, easy to use system engineering tool, and
  • automatically generate fully traceable systems engineering products such the OCD, CONOPS, FPS, SDD, SSS, ICD, mission profiles and technical risk register.

The course case study follows the system design of a military vehicle to demonstrate the integrated application of a proven MBSE method. It is therefore ideally suited for training staff involved in complex, high technology projectsTutorial threads are also available for staff involved in the design of transport systems and health systems.

  • develop an integrated system model using Capability Architect; a modern, easy to use system engineering tool, and
  • automatically generate fully traceable systems engineering products including the Operational Concept Document (OCD), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Function & Performance Specification (FPS), System Description Document (SDD), Sub-system Specifications (SSS), Interface Control Document (ICD) and mission profiles.
